This is the only Batman film in this particular series to not feature villains from the movie Batman (1966) (Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, and Riddler) as they all appeared in the previous three movies. However, Mr. Freeze did appear in three episodes of the Batman (1966) TV series. In addition, this film marks the first appearances of Poison Ivy and Bane in a live-action Batman film or TV series.
