The original concept idea for this film was called "Canine Mysteries" or "Canine Detective" where Burt Reynolds voices a detective dog living in a junkyard trying to rescue a female dog from a nasty rich Texan and his goons. The film was going to be a spoof of Burt Reynolds' previous movies. However, the idea was scrapped and later had it's concepts put into "All Dogs Go to Heaven".
