Rumours spread during the production stages of the film that, it is a sequel to the 2014 film "Bang Bang!" It is due to director Siddharth Anand interview in which he suggested there could be a "Bang Bang! 2" with actor Siddharth Malhotra as the male lead. Even on the first day of the shoot, the filmmakers released pictures of Clapboard which reads "Not Bang Bang 2".
