A scene was filmed (but cut) in which a fearful Bruce Wayne goes further into the bat cave and enters the cavern into which he fell when he was a boy. He finds his father's red leather book and again comes face-to-face with the giant bat he encountered. Bruce leaves and tells Alfred that he is Batman, and he's ready to face Riddler and Two-Face. It is similar to a scene from L'Impero colpisce ancora (1980) with Luke Skywalker in a cave of id-based illusions on Dagobah.
