Like Wolverine from X-Men (2000) and The Huntsman from Biancaneve e il cacciatore (2012), Puss In Boots had his own spin-off movie. Il gatto con gli stivali (2011) is a prequel to Shrek (2001) and this movie, and takes place years before Puss In Boots met Shrek and Donkey. The spin-off followed Puss In Boots as he sets out to clear his name and search for the eggs of the mythical golden goose with help from former friend turned enemy, Humpty Dumpty, and the thief Kitty Softpaws.
