When Tanner stops the Bronco and shoots his AR15/M4 at the townspeople following the final bank robbery, he does several quick reloads. The first he slaps the bolt release, indicating the bolt locked back on the final round from the first magazine. The second reload he pulls the "jungle style" magazine out and turns it over for the third magazine. He does not rack the bolt carrier group, which may mean he reloads with at least one round still in the 2nd magazine. Reloading mid-magazine is a common quick reload method and is still taught today, especially for intense situations where racking a slide or dropping a bolt takes extra time.
