Lois meets and joins forces with Chrissy Beppo, a fellow journalist, at the Smallville Ledger. In the comics, Beppo was a monkey used for testing by Jor-El on Krypton. He stowed away in Kal-El's rocket and became the Super-Monkey. The Smallville (2001) tie-in animated comic "Justice & Doom" featured Christopher James Beppo, a Smallville Ledger journalist on which Chrissy is likely based.
