In April 2005, on Late Night With Conan O'Brien, Ellen Barkin told the story about a time she and then husband Ron Perelman were watching television in bed and came across a sex scene she did in this movie with Laurence Fishburne (several years before she married Perelman). In the sequence Barkin straddles Fishburne on a dock and has a shrieking orgasm. Perelman didn't seem to appreciate the artistry ('It was a little too real', he said). The actress kept saying she was fully clothed in the scene (although actually at the beginning of the scene she lifts her skirt and shows that she was not wearing panties). They didn't talk to each other for two weeks.
