The movie's working title was ''Follow That Car''. Other possible title antecedents for the film include 'Wham Bam, Merci, Madame' which was the name of a script that director Charles B. Griffith wrote for producer Roger Corman which also featured stunts from a number of then recent 1970s New World Pictures. The title that Corman suggested for this proposed picture was 'Car Wars'.
