The movie features off-camera narration done by Robert Pattinson's Bruce Wayne, who, to cope with the blurring of his two different lives as Bruce Wayne and The Batman, writes down and reviews his nightly actions in journals. This is very similar to another DC Comics character, Rorschach/Walter Kovacs from Alan Moore's Watchmen comic book series, who narrates the original comics throughout with his journal. The monotone tone and eloquent manner in which Bruce narrates is similar, also, to Jackie Earle Haley's portrayal of Rorschach in Zack Snyder's adaptation of Watchmen (2009).
