There were a lot of "reunions" per se on this film with actors who had worked with each other in prior films or TV shows. Besides Andy Serkis and Martin Freeman who worked together in The Hobbit films, there was also Forest Whitaker who had work with Angela Bassett 23 years ago in Donne - Waiting to Exhale (1995) as director/ actress and co-starred together in Un Natale speciale a New York (2013). Forest Whitaker and Isaach De Bankolé previously co-starred in Jim Jarmusch's Ghost Dog - Il codice del samurai (1999). There was also a The Walking Dead (2010) reunion with Danai Gurira and T. Love. Danai played the iconic Michionne, while Travis played The Governor's henchmen, Bowman.
