The scene in which Kenji Sahara's character of Fujita drives off to save his girlfriend was mostly directed by assistant director Koji Kawakita due to Honda's accident. Kawakita had told Sahara not to speed up too much while driving in the mountains although Sahara admits he couldn't help himself getting into character. After filming Kawakita ran up to Sahara shouting, "What the hell are you doing, speeding like that? Don't you know how dangerous that is?"
