A potential spin-off, "Rose Tyler: Earth Defence", was proposed in 2006, but did not progress beyond the idea stage, partly because Billie Piper did not want to return to the role and Russell T. Davies realized that it would render the goodbye between The Doctor and Rose at the end of season two meaningless.
