LCMR Hunter is using 'Star Trek' analogy to Vossler to convince him of the need to fix the radio ASAP, by reminding him of an Star Trek episode where the Klingons were going to blow up the Enterprise, and Captain Kirk asked Scotty to give him "more warp speed". No such episode of Star Trek (1966) exists; the closest it comes is in Star Trek: Day of the Dove (1968), where the crew and the Klingons fight out a battle on board the Enterprise, and Kirk urges Scotty to free a group of trapped crew members needed to drive the Klingons back. The description is also quite reminiscent of the end of Star Trek II - L'ira di Khan (1982), where the Enterprise urgently needs warp speed to escape the blast zone of the recently activated Genesis device by Khan, but this movie features no Klingons whatsoever. Another movie, Rotta verso l'ignoto (1991), has the Klingons threatening to blow up the Enterprise, but the solution revolves around firing a torpedo back at them, not Scotty increasing the warp speed. It seems likely that Hunter was just combining some general Star Trek tropes, such as the Klingons as the standard enemy and Scotty usually having to fix the engines at critical moments, hoping that it would trigger a response from Vossler; or Hunter simply mixed up parts of different Star Trek stories.
