At least two tropical birds appear in the film. When Mildred visits her daughter at Wally's bar, a cockatoo can be seen on a perch (this breed would become associated with the TV character Baretta, played by Robert Blake). And when Mildred meets with Mrs. Forrester on the patio, what appears to be a macaw parrot is sitting in an opening of the bamboo wall. Whether it is alive or an effigy is left to conjecture, however.
