D.A.R.P.A scientist Dr. Clyne constantly relies on the supporting Delta Force soldiers to keep him alive throughout the movie which is ironic considering the actor who plays him (James Badge Dale) has played military roles (coincidentally Special Forces as well). Dale played a U.S. Army Ranger in World War Z (2013), U.S. Marine PFC Robert Leckie in The Pacific (2010), and an ex-Navy SEAL security contractor in 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi (2016). He also played Eric Savin in Iron Man 3 (2013) who is actually a Lieutenant-Colonel.
