Calogero is conflicted about race. When riding in the car to firebomb the black neighborhood the music that is playing is the popular Jimi Hendrix cover of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" - a black musician playing a song by one who Hendrix described as his favorite musician, who was white. The theme of the song is a warning about dire consequences.
