The way the Master Emerald's powers are treated is reminiscent of the Phantom Ruby from Sonic Forces (2017), with Robotnik's transformation bearing a few notable similarities to Infinite. He floats rather than walking, has an eerie reverberation effect on his voice, and reshapes the world around him to his liking with his newfound powers in order to exact revenge on the hedgehog who's humiliated him. The Death Egg Robot is also closer in scale to the ones seen besieging the City in Forces than the one from the game the movie is named for, despite its head more closely resembling the "Classic" Death Egg Robot.
