Barry's dialogue in the opening scene of season 3 first episode: "There's only one thing I know about life. I know some things happen by chance, and some things happen because we make them happen." These are also the opening lines of Flashpoint in the comic books, and are actually the first sentences in the letter written by Thomas Wayne (the Batman in Flashpoint) to his son Bruce (the Batman in actual continuity). In the comic books Thomas Wayne gave this letter to Barry before Barry restored the timeline. In the aftermath of Flashpoint, Barry delivered the letter to Bruce.
