Marie Antoinette was executed in the "Place de la Révolution", a public square used for public executions by guillotine. In 1795, the square was renamed to "Place de la Concorde". In 1836, the ancient Luxor Obelisk was placed in the center of the square. The square still exists in modern Paris, located in the city's eighth arrondissement.
