In an interview with THE FACE just before the movie premiere, Daniel Radcliffe said that he really wasn't that mournful by nature, but got his inspiration from the complex emotions shown in the films he loved, like Le ali della libertà (1994), L'attimo fuggente (1989), La parola ai giurati (1957) and Buon compleanno Mr. Grape (1993).
