Jupe has a long speech about SNL mocking Gordy's rampage, with Chris Kattan playing the chimp. In the early 80's SNL had a recurring bit called "I Married a Monkey" where Tim Kazurinsky acted alongside a chimpanzee. The sketch finally ended on Season 9, episode 11. Kazurinsky joked that the chimp had tried to kill him before, but in the dress rehearsal for the episode the chimp flew into a rage and really tried to inflict harm. According to Kazurinsky the chimp's teeth were removed as a result.
