Shortly after Kumiko Okae, one of the movie's voice actors, passed away due to the COVID-19, most of the English-language internet media erroneously stated that she was the voice of Officer Jenny. What Okae actually voiced in the movie was a rigorous old woman sharing the aforementioned character's name. Not only that, but the movie's Jenny is merely referred as ''the Nanny'' in the dub. Okae is otherwise one of the only Japanese voice actors that succumbed to the COVID-19. It has been also said that Keiji Fujiwara, one of Mewtwo's Japanese voice actors, was also the victim of the COVID-19 pandemic.
