After Regis Philbin's retirement and before his death in 2020, he did not made any guest appearances on this show. On the July 27, 2020 taping, Kelly Ripa, Ryan Seacrest and Michael Gelman had all paid tribute to him, in the years, where Philbin was hosting the show, where both Ripa and Seacrest had told their own stories as to how they both loved him, respectively.
