David Hedison along with David Orth who played Ed Malone in The Lost World television series from 1999 to 2002 share some interesting facts. Both of them share the first name of "David" and their versions of Malone depict him as an American journalist rather than a British journalist as in the original novel and many of the other adaptations. Also their casting of Edward Malone is rather interesting. David Hedison is an American actor who portrayed a Canadian character named Andre Delambre in The Fly in 1958, while David Orth, a Canadian actor, portayed the tv version Ed Malone who is American.
