The climax of the episode Reunion having Cad Bane make a surprise appearance retconned a scene from the cancelled Clone Wars storyline, Crystal Crises, where he dies from a gun showdown with Boba Fett, earning Fett the infamous dent in his helmet. The story idea of the duel was recycled for the live action series The Book of Boba Fett.
