For David Basner's marketing team of advertising creatives responsible for brainstorming Colonial Airlines' promotional take-off with a series of commercials, director Garry Marshall hired "ten bright young performers'' from the Second City comedy troupe who came to be known as 'The Chicago Ten'. The series of commercials were filmed with the Second City members at a studio in Los Angeles, California.
