There were two Jenny's and three Lionel's. Lynne Moody played Jenny Willis in the All in the Family episode when she was introduced: Lionel's Engagement. Then when this show went to series the part was played by Berlinda Tolbert. Lionel Jefferson was originally played by D'Urville Martin in the two unaired All in the Family pilots ("Justice For All" (1968) and "Those Were the Days" (1969)). Mike Evans took over for the third pilot which began the series and continued the role on the Jeffersons. Reportedly after one season, Mike went to work on his own brainchild spinoff from the All in the Family franchise, Good Times, and left the Jeffersons. Then Damon Evans took over the part for three seasons on the Jeffersons. Eventually Mike came back. The Willis' were actually both played by two actors also. Charles Aidman played a character named Louis Willis in the Willis' first appearance, Lionel's Engagement, where his wife Helen was played by Kim Hamilton. Then later on the Jeffersons spinoff episode of All in the Family, Louis Willis' name was changed to Tom, and the new actor playing him was Franklin Cover, with Roxie Roker taking over as Helen; both continuing the roles throughout the run of The Jeffersons. Roxie it should be noted was Lenny Kravitz's mother. (So the All in the Family franchise gave birth to two huge 80s rock stars. Janet Jackson on Good Times and Lenny Kravitz on The Jeffersons!)
