Throughout the film Ford repeatedly witnesses families reuniting, and these reunions coincide with interactions and reunions with his own family; first in jail he sees a tense interaction between a teenager and his parents shortly before seeing his father, then in Hawaii relieved parents find their young son after they were separated shortly before Ford talks to his wife Elle on the phone, and finally in the stadium in San Francisco when a husband finds his wife and family right before Ford, Elle, and Sam are all back together.
