Near the end of the movie, when Sully is before the N.T.S.B., he tells them they forgot to use the human factor, when they used simulations to show he could have gotten to an airport. They relented and added thirty-five seconds to the simulation before the simulated pilots reacted to the problem. The actual time, from the bird strike, was fifty-eight seconds, a twenty-three second difference. In the movie, 35 seconds from the bird strike lands you at the moment when Sully says, "My aircraft" and instructs the co-pilot to get out the QRH.
