Producer Michael Filerman suggested "Vulture's Nest"; it was later axed, because it sounded too aggressive and Earl Hamner Jr.'s new suggestion was "Falcon's Lair", based on the name of Rudolph Valentino's Beverly Hills Mansion, later "Falcon Ridge" and "Falcon Valley." The final settlement was "Falcon Crest."
