The periodic, digital on-screen clock that shows the passage of time is meant to represent an LED (light-emitting diode) display. However, on such displays, each digit is represented by a combination of 7 elements and each has the same width. The number 1 is represented by the two, right-hand vertical elements of the display. The 1s on the '24' clock have an extra half-element at the top and the number is proportionally spaced, only occupying the width of the one, so this display is a computer-generated emulation of an LED display.
