While promoting the film in an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (2003) hosted by Anthony Anderson, Margot Robbie revealed that she used to sleep in a room with a cardboard cutout of her future co-star in this film, John Cena, on display. This was courtesy of her former boyfriend, who was a huge wrestling fan. When she first met Cena while shooting the film, she decided to tell him this despite initial hesitation in order to avoid embarrassment. In the interview, Cena, who was dressed up as his character from the film, and director James Gunn were present and they were very amused by Robbie's revelation.
