The film references the following non-film works: Photos from "Self and Others," a photo book by Shigeo Gocho (at exhibitions in Osaka and Tokyo, with the exception of a photo on Tokyo exhibition poster which is from Gocho's another collection "Childhood"),Lines from Act II of "Three Sisters," a play by Anton Chekhov (in an argument about Maya's acting in the video),"The Wild Duck," a play by Henrik Ibsen (a canceled performance),"The Picture of Dorian Gray" (only the translated title is seen on a poster and a flyer in the background; probably for a stage adaptation of a novel by Oscar Wilde).
