At appx. 2:01:34, right before Tony Stark flies into the mouth of a Chitaurian Leviathan, he asks Jarvis, "Jarvis, have you ever heard the tale of Jonah?," to which Jarvis (Paul Bettany) responds, "Uh... I wouldn't consider him a role model." Nine years earlier, Bettany played Dr. Stephen Maturin in Master & Commander - Sfida ai confini del mare (2003). One of the subplots of "Master and Commander" was that the crew believed that their run of bad luck was due to another crew mate whom they considered a Jonah.
