(at around 1h 21 mins) When Zara (Katie McGrath) is picked up by a Pterodactyl and subsequently eaten by the Mosasaurus, no stunt performer was used in filming this scene. McGrath was pulled and tossed upside down in the air, and also submerged in water several times, with the help of a harness and wire rigging. This provided an opportunity to show her natural reaction and facial expressions throughout the shot, as opposed to using a stunt performer and having to hide his or her face, or use a digital face alteration in post-production.
