There is a heatedly disputed rumor that Sharon Tate appears unbilled at the party Rosemary gives for her "young" friends. Tate was Polanski's first choice to play Rosemary before Farrow was selected. Though Tate did visit the set a few times, and was Farrow's understudy for the film, it has never been confirmed if she is indeed in the film as an extra, and remains a famous urban legend.
