Though her guilt has never been concretely proven, Tamerlan's widow, Katherine, is suspected of complicity in the bombing. At the time of the film's production, Melissa Benoist was also shooting the first season of Supergirl (2015). In the Supergirl: How Does She Do It? (2015), her character searches for the perpetrator of numerous bombings around National City.
