Psych has connections to many shows, mainly due to them referencing a handful of shows first. They frequently would take jabs at One Tree Hill, and more specifically Chad Michael Murray, who starred in One Tree Hill (2003) for the first 6 seasons. One Tree Hill finally clapped back in their 7th season, after Murray left the show. They also have a lot of cast overlap with Supernatural (2005). Family Guy (1999) references Psych more than once. Psych has also referenced It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005) as each of their casts have a very close mutual friend in Jimmi Simpson, who plays Mary Lightly in Psych, and Liam McPoyle in Sunny.
