Three years after leaving the air, the cartoon La fantastica Jeannie (1973) made its first appearance, ending in 1975. A young Mark Hamill played teenager Corey Anders. In the cartoon, Corey (not Capt. Nelson) rescues Jeannie, who was accompanied by a bumbling male genie sidekick "Babu", voiced by Joe Besser of The Three Stooges.
