Many of Harry's classes; a major feature of the previous two films; were cut from this film and subsequent films. Returning teachers are not shown teaching classes, so only new teachers are shown. In this case, that means we only see three of Harry's classes: Care of Magical Creatures, taught by Hagrid; Divination, taught by Professor Trelawney; and Defense Against Dark Arts, taught by Professor Lupin. Snape is only shown teaching when he substitutes for Professor Lupin. In the next two films, the only new teacher is Defense Against Dark Arts, so only that class is shown. The only exception is Harry Potter e l'Ordine della Fenice (2007), where Divination and Potions are shown, due to Umbridge's interrogation of their respective teachers. This is the only film in which Snape is shown teaching Defense Against Dark Arts, even though he is given that position in Harry Potter e il principe mezzosangue (2009). In that film, we are only shown Harry in Potions class, making this the only film in which he is shown teaching Defense Against Dark Arts.
