The Caller is unlike most movie villains, who are seen earlier in the film or are somehow related to the protagonist. The Caller is simply a random person who is fed up with fake, arrogant people. He had never met Stu Shepard or the other people he chose for his executions prior to them. Even his appearance is surprisingly ordinary, an older, meek man with slicked back hair, glasses and cream colored clothing.
