This was the third live-action adaptation of Akira Toriyama's "Dragon Ball" manga; there were two other films before this, both of which were unlicensed and thus unofficial adaptations.The first was Deuraegon bol: Ssawora Son O-gong, igyeora Son O-gong (1990) from South Korea, and the second was Dragon Ball: Il film (1991) from Taiwan.
