Bollywood blockbuster Sholay's Jailor played by Asrani was inspired by this film. The entry sequence of the jailor was lifted from Adenoid Hynkel's entry in the grand room of his palace. In a later sequence in Sholay, the jailor is toying with a globe, again inspired by the famous globe scene of this film.
