Sam has a number of record albums of film scores propped, cover out, on his bedroom shelves. One of these albums is the soundtrack for the 1960 film Spartacus, which was directed by Stanley Kubrick. Kubrick and Spielberg collaborated on the movie A.I. Artificial Intelligence: Kubrick developed it for many years, then turned it over to Spielberg to direct, after which the two continued to work together to shape the story and production. Kubrick died in 1999, two years before AI finally came out.
