This marks the first time that one actor playing James Bond had filmed two different gun barrel sequences. Moore's first gun barrel sequence had served for Agente 007 - Vivi e lascia morire (1973) and Agente 007 - L'uomo dalla pistola d'oro (1974), while the second one served for the rest of Moore's outings. The reason for the change was the aspect ratio went from 1.85:1 to 2.35:1, necessitating a newly filmed opening. Moore's original gun barrel sequence however, would continue to feature in Bond trailers up to the end of his tenure. Due to 1.85:1 being the standard ratio for trailers at that time, it meant it was easier to use the old one and not have to re-format the new 2.35:1 gun barrel (meaning that one would never feature in a Moore-era trailer).
