The two stories were shot by different cinematographers. Andrew Lau, who shot Kar-Wai Wong's first film As Tears Go By (1988), shot the first story; Christopher Doyle, who shot Kar-Wai Wong's second film Days of Being Wild (1990) and several others afterward, shot the second story.
