Second adaptation of the novel produced by Paramount, after the 1929 version. Its production partner on this version, Miramax, was then owned by Disney, who sold the studio in 2010. Following further transactions, Paramount now owns a minority stake in Miramax, and with it, the worldwide rights to the film.
