The scene where the truck nearly kills David Mann by crashing into the phone booth while he was speaking to the police did not involve a stunt double; Dennis Weaver performed the entire sequence himself. The action was carefully plotted out using a series of flags along the truck's path marking distance to the booth. Once the truck reached the final flag (the point of no return), some 50 yards from the booth, Weaver was to have been out of the booth. If for some reason he was unable to exit by the time the truck reached that last flag it was to veer off.
