The original subtitle was "Star Trek: The Genesis Project". That was changed to "Star Trek II", then "Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country" and subsequently "The Vengeance of Khan". This was discarded in deference to Il ritorno dello Jedi (1983), which was then subtitled "Revenge of the Jedi" and was planned to be released near the same time. The third subtitle was eventually used for Rotta verso l'ignoto (1991).
